Guidelines

  • 001.   IC ≠ OOC:     It should go without saying, but how my character acts is not a reflection of me as a person. I am very particular about this boundary due to past negative experiences and I do not need a repeat of that lol.

  • 002.   Shipping:     I am multi-ship friendly, and I keep whatever relationships my characters have in their own separate spaces. While I enjoy shipping, it's not my sole intention when writing. I also ask that any potential relationships be plotted beforehand, just so I don't get blindsided. As long as chemistry exists (or it's funny), just run it by me first. I'll probably say yes. (I am insane)

  • 003.   Meta-gaming:     Please do not meta-game or god-mode unless there's an extremely plot-relevant reason for it. If you know something OOC, that does not mean your character is also informed unless they were given the information ICly or was approved by me OOC. Bryn's very careful about keeping her life private, so it will take a while for her to open up. Also no severely injuring or killing my character without prior permission.

  • 004.   Replies:     I will try to get back with replies as soon as possible, but I am also very busy with commissions/IRL. I also got the ADHD real bad. If it is a time-sensitive matter, give me a heads up and I will make absolute sure I get back to you. If I stop replying or deliver responses slowly, I promise it's not because of you. I am both washed and chopped.

  • 005.   Triggers:     I'm generally cool with exploring darker themes—just as long as there's a reason for it. Baseless suffering is not my cup of tea. I'm also cool with writing spicier scenarios. If something makes me uncomfortable, I will communicate with you about it. The only thing I'm real squeamish about is eye trauma or like, pulling teeth/fingernails.

  • 006.   Disclaimer:     I am so incredibly rusty when it comes to RP, so I may accidentally overstep or fumble with something. Just give me a heads up and I will course-correct. This specific depiction of Bryn is her not as the Warrior of Light.

PERSONALITY    : Intimidating. Guarded. Reserved. These are some of the traits that could be gleaned from the woman upon first inspection, driving away many from even approaching her. Yet beneath that facade of stoicism lies an incredibly sensitive soul. Despite the hardships and pain she has endured, she has not lost her ability to love. She's especially protective of children and animals, her patience almost saintly for a woman in her position.

APPEARANCE    : Well-built and curvy, Bryn has put in much work to keep herself strong. Still, her sweet tooth has caused her to maintain some amount of softness, but it does not impede on her ability to carry out her duties. Her freckled skin is etched with various scars and stretch marks, old and new. Her hair has a mind of its own and does not do well in humid weather or tight restraints. Faint bags hang from her unnervingly sharp eyes. At night, they take on a sort of reflective appearance (Tapetum lucidum).

Biography

Born into one of Garlemald's northern territories, Bryn had always been surrounded by uncertainty and death. As soon as she became of age, she was promptly conscripted into the Imperial army with little fanfare. She was given often grueling work with the expectation that she'd perish out in the field. Yet due to her confounding resilience and quick wits, she would impress and infuriate those who observed her. In time, she became a valuable weapon. She was destined for a high-ranking position within the military, completing missions with almost an air of pride. That was, until she was given an order too horrific to obey, breaking her out of her almost trance-like state. She ultimately turned her blade on her squadron, killing every last member before fleeing for the border of Gridania, casting everything that revealed her ties to Garlemald.Registering with the Adventurer's Guild, there was plenty of things to keep the young woman busy. She'd hone her skills as both a weaponsmith and a goldsmith, while also taking on dirtier work like beast exterminations or hired muscle. Despite finding relative success, she still carries the weight of her past, and thus she was never truly able to rest easy. There was always the looming threat of someone recognizing who she really is.She wonders if her family is alright. If they wondered if she was still alive. If they were still proud of her. Would they even recognize her, even after all this time?Bryn's too afraid to find out.

MountBryn's chocobo named Skadi, whose plumage resembles that of a snowy owl. She is the most foul-tempered bird you will ever meet. Tolerates only Bryn and those who recognize her greatness. Tribute will be made in treats.
"Last Resort"When Bryn feels she or her comrades' lives are in mortal peril and she has burned through her normal reserves, she lets her "shadow" take over. All the repressed rage and sorrow she carries is transformed into immense power for a short duration, after which she becomes incapacitated for a long time. Though, on rare occasions, her "shadow" will manifest itself in other unique ways...
